IAP offers a world of possibilities for telematics companies Thursday, 8 February 2007 Transport Certification Australia Limited (TCA), the company administering the Intelligent Access Program (IAP), announced today that Australia’s leading telematics companies are vying to be amongst the first IAP Service Providers.
TCA has commenced the certification process and expects to have certified IAP Service Providers available by the middle of 2007. To date, at least one application has been received for certification.
With 8,500 vehicles expected to make the switch to the IAP over the next three years and more than 1,500 vehicle already pre-enrolled in New South Wales for HML under the IAP, Chief Executive Officer, Mr Chris Koniditsiotis said its not surprising that companies are determined to capture this market size.
“The early applicants have recognised that they can establish a competitive advantage from their business competitors by adding the IAP to their list of telematics and GPS service offerings,” said Mr Koniditsiotis.
“We are encouraging companies seeking to become IAP certified to submit their application forms with TCA sooner rather than later in order to be amongst the first to be able to offer IAP services to transport operators participating in the IAP,” he said.
A further incentive to prospective IAP Service Providers to join the program is the significant rebates offered on the certification fee and the on-going operational fee.
To find out more about the IAP or how to become certified as an IAP Service Provider please visit the TCA website at www.tca.gov.au or contact TCA on (03) 8601 4600 or send an email to TCA.
