TCA statement regarding Sigtec Pty Ltd

Transport Certification Australia Limited (TCA), the company administering the Intelligent Access Program (IAP), has announced that Sigtec Pty Ltd has advised TCA of its intention to cease being an IAP Service Provider.
IAP Service Providers are independent, private sector companies that have been certified by TCA to provide IAP services to transport operators.
TCA’s Chief Executive Officer, Chris Koniditsiotis, said he had been formally advised by Sigtec that due to significant growth in its public transport and taxi business operations the company had decided not to continue as an IAP Service Provider.
“Sigtec has advised TCA that it has made the decision to withdraw from providing IAP services and that it intends to review opportunities with other parties to license its IAP technology.
“Most importantly, TCA has also been advised by Sigtec that it intends to work with all transport operators directly affected by its decision to ensure these operators have a smooth transition in the transfer of IAP services,” he said.
For transport operators seeking IAP services, Mr Koniditsiotis said IAP Service Provider Transtech Driven was available to discuss their IAP requirements.
Mr Koniditsiotis also noted that, as announced earlier this year, TCA had received a significantly higher than expected number of applications from companies seeking to become IAP Service Providers and was working with these applicants towards achieving IAP certification.
The IAP remains a key enabler for Governments throughout Australia to advance road use management strategies and higher productivity access arrangements, and to provide the strongest-ever levels of assurances that the right truck is on the right road.
