The Award recognises TCA as an organisation that has applied innovation and technology solutions to an industry issue or problem. TCA were recipients of the Award on the basis of the IAP, which employs telematics services and in-vehicle units as an innovative means to sustain commercial operations whilst minimising enforcement resources and improving public perception of the industry.
The IAP is a voluntary program which provides heavy vehicles with access, or improved access, to the Australian road network in return for monitoring of compliance with specific access conditions by vehicle telematics solutions.
In accepting the Award TCA’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Chris Konidisiotis said; “This award recognises many organisations (government and industry) and persons who have contributed to the development of the IAP in order to meet the many challenges faced by the freight industry. It is not about technology, but about improved access to high productivity freight vehicles ensuring that safety and community concerns are addressed.”
He continued; “In particular TCA would like to thank its Members - the Australian road traffic authorities; the broader telematics industry and transport industry members. Also, a special thank you to our IAP Service Providers – Transtech Driven Partnership, Minorplanet Pty Ltd, OmniSTAR Pty Ltd and Transport Compliance Services Pty Ltd. We would also like to thank the sponsors - Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development as well as Transuper, Beaurepairs and the Victorian Transport Association.”
“I think our success with the IAP is a reflection of how well Australian Governments and industry bodies have worked together to find solutions to our freight needs.” says Mr Konidisiotis.
”I particularly want to thank the Victorian Transport Association for the visionary approach it has to the industry it represents.”
