Transport Certification Australia Limited (TCA), the company administering the Intelligent Access Program (IAP), today announced Transport Compliance Servcies (TCS) as the fourth IAP Service Provider.
TCA Chief Executive Officer Mr Chris Koniditsiotis stated “The announcement of TCS brings the total of IAP Service Providers to four. This gives the Transport Industry further opportunities when selecting their IAP Service Providers.”
TCS was established in 2008 for the specific purpose of becoming an IAP Service Provider and has three well established companies as its Shareholders (Intermodal Support Services (ISS), MTData and Key Trust). Each of these Shareholders bring their own skills and expertise which will combine to deliver the required standard of service in the IAP space.
“Today’s certification is the culmination of over 12 months work for the TCS project team” said TCS Chairman Bob Jones.
TCS Chief Executive Officer Ian Pendlebury added “IAP for us is very much about longer term. TCS understands the heavy transport business and our aim is to work with Transport Operators to apply innovative IAP solutions to their fleet where it’s justified and required.”
The IAP is a program which provides transport operators of heavy vehicles with improved access to Australia's road network in return for GPS monitoring of compliance with specific access conditions. In return, the IAP provides road authorities with greater confidence heavy vehicles are complying with the agreed road access conditions.
Under the IAP, participating heavy vehicles are monitored using telematics services with an in-vehicle unit (IVU). The IVU is supplied and operated by an IAP Service Provider, certified by TCA.
Only IAP Service Providers, identified by the IAP Certification Symbol, can provide IAP services.
Further details about IAP Service Providers and the IAP in general can be found at www.IAP.gov.au the dedicated IAP website.
