TCA Website is now live

17 February 2006

Transport Certification Australia Limited (TCA) today officially launched its website,
www.tca.gov.au.

The new website will facilitate the achievement of TCA’s purpose to serve its members and the community by supporting the development and implementation of the Intelligent Access Program (IAP). TCA is actively setting up systems and procedures to commence roll-out of the IAP.

The IAP is a voluntary program which provides heavy vehicles with access, or improved access, to the Australian road network in return for monitoring of compliance with specific access conditions by vehicle telematic solutions.

Chief Executive Mr Chris Koniditsiotis said the website will become a fully functional tool and one-stop shop of information for stakeholders such as transport operators, IAP Service Providers, IAP Auditors and road authorities wanting to participate in the IAP.

“The website currently contains general information on TCA and what the IAP is all about and how it works, providing a thorough overview to those people or organisations who want to be part in the new road transport reform”, said Mr Koniditsiotis.

“As TCA steers towards implementing the IAP we are finalising a suite of documents ranging from specifications to operating and auditing guidelines for the various IAP participants. As these documents are completed they will be available on the website,” he said.

“The TCA website will virtually become an ‘online library’ for IAP participants. They will be able to easily access current and up-to-date information that will assist them in the role and responsibilities as participants within the IAP,” said Mr Koniditsiotis.

www.tca.gov.au readers are able to subscribe to any updates and communications from TCA by registering their details on the website or make an enquiry for further information.
