IAP: a tool for managing local roads
Thursday 6 September 2007

During Freight Week 2007 in Melbourne there is the opportunity to hear about the role the Intelligent Access Program (IAP) has to play in the management of local roads.

The topic will be addressed by Mr John Baring, National Manager, Stakeholder Relations, Transport Certification Australia Limited (TCA). Mr Baring’s presentation is part of Freight Week’s Urban and Regional Freight – Local Government Interface program on Thursday 20 September at Caulfield Racecourse.

Mr Baring will address how the IAP can provide local government with a new approach to managing local roads. Topics to be discussed include using the IAP as a tool for:
  • better asset management
  • enabling greater capacity where appropriate
  • safer, more productive and compliant heavy vehicle operation
As well as discussing the role the IAP has in managing local roads, Mr Baring will also give an overview of the IAP and the current status of the program. There is also the opportunity to learn more about the IAP at the TCA display stand which is part of the Freight Expo exhibition.
