At Freight Outlook 07, Tuesday 18 September, there is the opportunity to hear Transport Certification Australia Limited (TCA) Chairperson Mr Steve Golding speak on the role of the Intelligent Access Program (IAP) in addressing future freight challenges.
Part of Freight Week 2007 in Melbourne, Freight Outlook 07 is an all day program of sessions at the State Library of Victoria. Organisers describe the day as bringing together ‘leading thinkers and agenda shapers across industry, government and academia in discussing and debating the future for freight’. The day will be hosted by Robert Gottliebsen, founder of BRW magazine.
Some of the issues Mr Golding will address are:
- the need for greater flexibility in regulation to match the ‘load to the road’ and to the community
- the IAP as a catalyst to provide productivity win-win outcomes for regulators and industry
- opportunities for the IAP outside of specific freight areas, including fleet ownership and management where chain-of-responsibility is important.
In his session Mr Golding will also give an overview of the current status of the IAP, making it an excellent opportunity to get an update on the program today, as well as its role in the future.
